Dwell takes a modern approach to architecture, stripping away the picture perfect rooms and delivering homes that are real and comfortable. Considering its magazine is only released ten times a year, perhaps the sporadic lifestyle and living videos shouldn't come as a great surprise. However more regular episodes would be a stop-gap between editions.

Self taught woodworker Marc Spagnuolo shares his passion with viewers with the home improvements series, The Wood Whisperer. Here you’ll find plenty of useful projects, including furniture, homewares, and renovations. The host clearly knows his stuff, and unlike so many others in the genre he won't send you to sleep!

Don't expect a run of the mill do it yourself series when you tune in to the lifestyle channel, Mechanical Mashup. Hosts Dave Spencer and Ben Eadie are more interested in creating unusual and frankly unnecessary projects than fixing your fence. The video might not show you the things you really need, but something tells me the average guy won't care one bit.

Eric Rochow's home improvements series is called GardenFork, but there's much more than gardening here. The approachable good natured host takes a holistic approach to the home with a selection of easy cooking lessons, repairs around the home and car, and do it yourself projects. Whatever he turns his hand to, Rochow's likable personality makes it entertaining.

In the consumer driven world we live in, it's easy to forget where our fruit and veggies come from. Patti Moreno reminds us of the roots of these products, and encourages us to grow our own, in her gardening series, Garden Girl TV. Additional videos on canning food and healthy cooking show you what to do with your produce once you’ve grown it.

Decor It Yourself gives the home improvements channel a makeover with its youthful energy and modern approach. Sunny host Meg Allen Cole makes this series, which focuses on eco-friendly and simple projects, both entertaining and informative.
With new episodes added every Wednesday, there's always something new to see.

Be honest. We all watch those home improvements programs hanging out for just one thing: the big reveal. The Big Reveal knows this, so it delivers those reveals with none of the padding and boring bits!
This program is a mish-mash of HGTV’s popular home improvements series. And with only the episode highlights online, it's even quicker to get to the "big reveal!"

The bathroom is regarded as a home's sanctuary; the place where we can submerge ourselves in bubbles, light some candles, and achieve the perfect state of zen ... if we're lucky. In reality far too many folks deal with gloomy, drab spaces that are a world away from our local day spa.
The team from home improvements program Save My Bath shows us that there is a better way, and it's easier to achieve than you might imagine.

The realities of do-it-yourself projects are shown, warts and all, in Renovation Realities. The HGTV channel offers short video clips from this home improvements show, helping viewers find just what they're looking for.
With informative names like "Joist Installation" and "Tree Removal," there's no doubt about what you'll see in these clips. I only wish there were more of them to help amateur handymen at home!

We're all trying to be a little greener these days, but no one wants to sacrifice style. Red Hot and Green shows us how to transform ordinary rooms into sexy spaces with eco-friendly elements.
This HGTV channel hosts full episodes and video highlights for a quick fix of green goodness.
