Brothers Ryan and Billy Bryer always had a passion for film. Since they were tiny they imagined creating Red and Green Apples Production Company, a film business dedicated to making brief funny movies. These short films come together on the comedy channel The Red and Green Apples Show. There's an art to eliciting laughs in just a few minutes. Sometimes it feels the videos are just skimming the surface, but the short form is perfect for internet audiences.

Showtime has long been one of America's most innovative entertainment networks, so it's little surprise that they’re behind the new animated internet channel, Short Stories. The network commissioned top internet animators to tell a story in an innovative way. The first batch, released in December, contains seven short films. Considering the standard of these, I only hope the project is expanded.

It's hand to hand combat of cinematic proportions in Film Fights TV. This series takes the short films of amateur filmmakers and pits them against one another. Only the voting public, and a few folks on the street, can decide who will be the ultimate victor. This catchy format provides a great showcase for new film talent.

Since its debut in 2004, New York City's Animation Block Party has grown to become one of the biggest animation festivals in the world. The Animation Block channel brings some of the best shorts from the festival to online viewers.

While they may be cartoons, this isn’t a channel for children. Many of the films are far too dark for youngsters!
