For months the world has been gripped by Obamamania. Barack Obama didn’t just win the United States presidency last November, he won the hearts of ordinary people around the globe.

It’s not hard to see why. Barack Obama is a charismatic young man, a loving husband, and a caring father to his young daughters. He seems in touch with the common people, and determined to do right by them. He wants the troops out of Iraq and he wants the American people to have universal health care.

Not since Robert Kennedy has the world felt such hope that an American politician could truly make a difference. And never has the African American community been so inspired as when one of their own was elected president.

And let’s not forget; he’s so much more credible than that buffoon George W. Bush!

Ziggy is a pampered pooch with a special talent. This hairy pup is more than just a pet; he’s a talented artist.

Now I know it might not seem like it at the start of the video. Ziggy seems more interested in doing anything other than painting. But if you catch him in the right mood, this pretty Pekingese loves nothing more than creating masterpieces.

That sort of temperamental nature sounds like most artists I know!

His works are simple, but there’s something compelling about these colorful abstract pieces. I wouldn’t mind hanging one on my wall. Does anyone know the going rate for doggy art?

I must admit, I’m a sucker for animals. If it’s feathery or furry, chances as I’ll fall for it. Then I met Five Toes, a kitty with a face and feet that only a mother could love!

She seems like a sweet natured cat, but she’s freakily deformed. For a start, every one of her paws has five toes. But there’s a sort of symmetry to that. I could get past that.

But then she opens her mouth to reveal a hideous double tongue and I can’t help recoiling! I know it’s not her fault, but the two tongues of Five Toes just creep me out!

As the world prepares for the opening of the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing today, I thought I’d post this sensational video to get us all in the mood.

It features some Asian guy reenacting the iconic sports and moments we have to look forward to. The stylized presentation reminds me of something out of The Matrix, and the transitions have to be seen to be believed.

I admit that the video suffers from poor television lighting, which means we see the guys in black far more than we should. But concentrate on blocking them out and you’ll see the magic that was intended.

Did you think the race to become the next US president was down to Obama and McCain? Me too. But it seems these guys have one more blonde to take care of. And that’s Paris Hilton.

But if you think she’ll be as easy to beat as Hillary C, you might want to think again. For a start, Paris is super hot. She also makes a lot more sense than you might imagine. Just listen to her energy policy if you don’t believe me!

This video is a response to John McCain’s ad, where the “wrinkly white-haired dude” suggested Obama was simply a celebrity like Britney Spear and Paris. I normally can’t stand the perfectly manicured socialite, but this clip gave me a giggle.

It’s not secret that Theo Tams is one of my favorite competitors in this year’s Canadian Idol competition. Yet while I loved his piano man routine, he was in danger of becoming a little predictable.

So this week I was thrilled to see Theo step out from the mic with his take on Joss Stone’s “You Had Me.”

He brought a new masculinity to this chick anthem that reminded me a little of an early George Michael. Before we realized he wasn’t so masculine after all.

Theo’s ballads captivated me, but with this gutsy performance he showed that he has what it takes to win this competition.

We’ve all seen cockatoos mimicking the sounds their owners make. If you were impressed by that, prepare to be wowed. The lyrebird, a bird found in the Australian bush, has impersonation down to a fine art.

This clip, from David Attenboroughs Life of Birds, gives you just a taste of what the lyrebird can do. I was awed by the various camera sounds he could make, but couldn’t believe my ears when he began to sing a little opera and even the Seinfeld theme! I’m not sure how a bird in the bush ever hears Seinfeld, but it’s unmistakable.

But the lyrebird does have the potential to behave like an annoying child, as David shows when he’s trying to tell us about the bird! I couldn’t help laughing at the way the bird repeated everything that was said!

Many liberal voters are hailing Barack Obama as the saviour of America. There are plenty of reasons for that: he’s articulate, in touch with the average Joe, and easy on the eye.

But I’ve found another thing Barack does better than the buffoon currently residing in the White House. He can dance.

If you need proof, just check out this footage from The Ellen DeGeneres Show last year. Barack busts out some moves that Beyonce would be proud of.

Now if you think this is a trivial matter, just cast your mind back to all those times George Dubya has decided to shake and shimmy. It’s frightfully embarrassing, isn’t it? Do you think McCain’s moves are a lot better? Not a chance.

Unless you want to subject the United States to four more years of terrible dancing, I suggest voting for Obama.

I’ve heard some fantastic racing horse names in my time, but this one takes the cake. I’m not sure whether this champion is owned by a pirate, but his name is Arrrrrrr.

This actual race footage has only one joke, but it doesn’t get old thanks to Tom Durkin’s classic commentary.

Tom seems genuinely thrilled at Arrrrr’s success, if only because it gives him a chance to do his best pirate impression. Is there any other way to say Arrrrr?
