Considering the caliber of this year’s Canadian Idol contestants, I had high hopes for this week’s unplugged show. It definitely didn’t disappoint. This stripped back format really gave each singer a chance to shine, and it was wonderful to watch.

Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Theo Tams stepped on stage to close the show. He took on Serena Ryder’s Weak at the Knees, and brought a new masculinity to this feminine ballad.

The boy’s just so talented. The impassioned piano playing, the sincere delivery, and that amazing voice all add to a performance that’s no less than sublime.
