Beached Az is an Australian animated comedy series starring a whale who is left stranded when he washes up on a New Zealand beach.

The whale encounters several well meaning animals who try to help him return to the sea, but to no avail. However they are happy to chat about their lives, their problems and goals, to help the whale pass the time.

Beached Az does not follow any formal narrative structure. Instead the short episodes appear as a collection of quick and comic conversations.

Beached Az is a spinoff of the short film Beached Whale. It sees the original short's creators Jarod Green, Anthony MacFarlane, and Nick Boshier reunited to tell the story of the hapless sea mammal. Episodes of Beached Az are short, typically lasting for one or two minutes. They are available through the series' YouTube channel. This channel makes it easy to send a message to the channel’s creators, or share the videos with friends.
