Chicago Rocks

Chicago Rocks is a live music program hosted by Maybe Hip personalities Patrick Lothian and Lexi Scherr.

Chigaco Rocks has a party atmosphere, with the hosts a different up-and-coming musician or band in each episode. These musicians also perform live in the Maybe Hip studios. The artists featured on the program are based in Chicago, thus inspiring the web series’ title. Past musicians have included Cobalt and the Hired Guns, Jackpot Donnie, and Katie Todd.

Chicago Rocks is filmed in high-definition video to preserve the quality even when episodes are viewed in full-screen viewing mode.

The bottom of the player has basic video controls alongside more advanced options. These advanced controls allow fans to e-mail the videos to friends, embed them into a personal website, view the episode synopsis, and view the clips in full screen viewing mode.

Buttons underneath the player allow browsers to jump to the previous episode, view a menu containing all episodes, and view the episode in reduced quality for users with slow internet connections. Browsers are also encouraged to comment on each episode.

New episodes are added to the channel on Saturdays on a bi-weekly basis. Each typically lasts between 10 and 20 minutes.
