Crackle

Crackle is a entertainment channel which showcases original web series and user generated content.

The channel was originally known as Grouper. But when Sony Pictures Entertainment acquired it, it received a new name and a new image.

The site currently features a selection of comedy, music, horror, reality TV, and horror videos. This diverse range of videos is arranged in channels, allowing browsers to easily find clips that interest them.

It also features regular competitions which encourage browsers to submit their videos to the site. These often reward amateur filmmakers with cash prizes and the opportunity to develop their ideas with Crackle Studios.

Users can browse videos sorted by the number of views, the most shared, and the highest rated. Fans can also use the search box at the top right of the screen to find videos they want to see.

Browsers can view more information about the videos they are watching, including their duration and the number of views, by hovering over the player. Hovering also allows browsers to share the video with friends, add it to a playlist, and flag it for offensive content. In some cases viewers can also choose to watch high-definition video.

Crackle videos are free to watch. However, fans can enjoy extra privileges by signing up for a free Crackle account. This allows users to create a profile page and save and comment on their favorite videos. This profile automatically keeps track of the last 300 videos viewed.

Parental guidance is recommended as some of the videos contain sexual references, coarse language, adult themes, and scary scenes that may be unsuitable for younger viewers.
