Escape to the Movies

Escape to the Movies is a weekly film review webseries hosted by cinema blogger MovieBob.

Most episodes review of one of the latest blockbuster movies. These films tend to target The Escapist's predominantly male audience, so action flicks, gross-out comedies, and superhero movies feature prominently. Occasional episodes focus on film news concerning major award ceremonies, upcoming movie releases, and other cinema related topics. The episodes typically last for around five minutes.

Controls in the video player allow browsers to pause and play the episodes, adjust their volume, and view them in full-screen mode. Additional links in the player allow fans to embed the episodes in a personal website and view the site's video help menu.

There is an additional link for viewing the episodes in high-quality video, although this option is only available to members of the Publisher’s Club. This service costs $20 per year, and offers high-quality, ad-free content to members.

An episode and series synopsis is printed underneath the player, with a link to the Escape to the Movies Facebook page and MovieBob’s blog, Intermission. Links below this help fans share the episodes with friends through various social networking websites.
