Firecracker TV

Firecracker has a long history of promoting Asian cinema through magazines and film showcases. Now, through its internet TV channel, Firecracker delivers previews and full-length Asian movies on demand.

Firecracker TV delivers a range of Asian movies, from classic films to new releases, to audiences around the world. Browsers can view free previews and interviews, or pay to stream complete films. Films can be purchased individually, or using a subscription at a discounted rate. When users purchase a film title, they can watch it as many times as they wish for one week.

The video window plays a schedule of rolling content. Browsers can view this, or select the videos they'd prefer to watch by clicking the titles on the right of the screen. By clicking the navigation tabs, browsers can choose to view new selections, video on demand, or search for titles. The search function allows users to search for titles by their name or genre.

As the site shows Asian films, much of the content is not in English. However, when appropriate the videos show English subtitles.

Browsers require Windows Media Player or Flip4Mac to view Firecracker TV's content. However, Mac users cannot use the video controls or full-screen mode at this stage. Mac users should also avoid using Safari, as Firecracker TV is not compatible with this browser. Firefox users may require an Active X plug-in to view Firecracker TV.
