Frontier – Prelude to Darkness

Frontier: Prelude to Darkness is an animated science fiction series developed by New Zealand film maker, Lewis Roscoe.

The series is set at the end of the 23rd century, a time when Earth's space empire the Terran Imperial Union is at war with human expats, the Dakota Republic. The Dakota left Earth more than a century ago. The tribes have been at war for years, and the family of former air force major John Caine, voiced by the series creator, got caught in the crossfire. He has never forgiven the Dakota for destroying his family, so he jumps at the opportunity to rejoin active duty and exact his revenge.

Caine joins an invasion force looking for a missing ship helmed by Union chief communications officer, ensign Sarah Keller. Caine is assisted in the search by new recruit Private Rick Devers. They arrive on an enemy planet and discover that the Dakota are the least of their worries.

The Frontier: Prelude to Darkness main page features a video player. Fans can jump to any episode of the series by clicking the titles at the right of the player window. Hovering over the player window during an episode presents the video controls. These buttons along the base of the player allow browsers to pause and play the clips, adjust their volume, view them in full screen mode, and access advanced controls. Buttons at the top left of the player allow fans to toggle between standard and high definition formats.
