GRITtv
British-American journalist Laura Flanders speaks to key political figures and activists about the topics that matter in the news series GRITtv.
Flanders has described herself as a "liberal lefty," and her channel takes a similar progressive view of controversial topics. These including feminism, environmental policy, health care, the media, civil liberties, and more. Many interviews are conducted in person, but others utilize new technology including Skype. These interviews sit alongside viewer-submitted content, which comes from concerned ordinary citizens and celebrities.
GRITtv was originally conceived as a daily 30-minute news program. This incarnation was suspended in May 2011, but the essence of the series continues through short interviews and videos posted online.
The GRITtv video page features a list of the series’ episode titles along with a brief description of the clips. Clicking the title or accompanying image takes viewers to the individual episode pages.
The individual episode pages feature a more comprehensive episode synopsis, along with links to related videos and websites. Controls along the base of the player window allow fans to pause and play the clips, adjust their volume, share the videos with friends, and view them in full-screen mode.
