Gisele and the Green Team

Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen gets animated in the environmentally-conscious children's series Gisele and the Green Team.

The series is like a new reimagining of the retro cartoon series Captain Planet and the Planeteers. The original series saw five young people from around the globe with magic rings, who together could summon the superhero Captain Planet to help save the world.

This time around the eco-warriors are five sexy, fashionable women. Instead of magic rings, they have gem stones. The power of these jewels transforms them into the Green Team, a tough band of environmental vigilantes. Each member of the group has a special power, such as foresight, telepathy, telekinesis, and "earth memory." These use these special gifts to battle polluting villains, including the greedy businessman Nick Slick.

At the conclusion of each episode, Gisele addresses the home viewers to share information about environmental issues.

Gisele and the Green Team features a colorful, retro style of animation typical of the Saturday morning cartoons of the 70s and 80s. It was developed in conjunction with the United Nations Environment Program to ensure its storylines deal with the most pressing global environmental concerns.

Video controls appear when hovering over the player window. These allow browsers to pause and play the clips, and adjust their volume.
