Hawaii Five-O is a classic crime drama. It stars Jack Lord and James MacArthur as detectives with for the Hawaii state police.

Jack Lord plays Steve McGarrett, a former Navy officer who heads the fictional Hawaii police unit. He is assisted by Chin Ho Kelly, Kono Kalakaua, and the enthusiastic young officer Danny Williams, played by Jack MacArthur.

The team targets international spies, Mafia agents, and criminals operating in the Hawaiian Islands. The action surrounding chasing criminals was at the forefront of each episode, leaving little time for personal storylines.

Hawaii Five-O originally aired for twelve seasons from 1968 to 1980. Until Law & Order stole its crown in 2003, Hawaii Five-O was the longest-running crime series on American television. Its catchphrase "Book 'em Danno" has become part of the popular lexicon.
