Knight Rider is a classic American action series starring David Hasselhoff. It originally aired from 1982 to 1986.

David Hasselhoff plays Michael Long, a police detective who is almost killed when shot. He is rescued by billionaire Wilton Knight, who gives him a new face, and a new identity: Michael Knight. Wilton recruits Michael to be the muscle behind his self-funded public justice organization, the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG). FLAG is headed by Devon Miles, who acts as a mentor for Michael.

A key part of the program is the Knight Industries Two Thousand, a talking car with artificial intelligence known as KITT. Michael and KITT work together in situations where "direct action might provide the only feasible solution."
