Know Your Meme is a light-hearted documentary series which lifts the lid on the internet’s most popular viral videos and concepts.

The series is developed by comedy channel Rocketboom, and hosted by its talents, the "research internet scientists" Jamie “Dubs” Wilkinson, Kenyatta Cheese, and Elspeth Jane. They focus on one specific internet meme in each episode, explaining what it is about before exploring its origin, its place in world culture, and its effects on the online landscape.

Know Your Meme presents itself as a scientific exploration of the internet, with its setting in the Rocketboom Institute for Internet Studies and hosts dressed in white lab coats and carrying clipboards.

The channel uses standard YouTube players presented in blog style format, with the most recent episodes printed first. These players allow browsers to pause and play the clips, adjust their volume, and view the episodes in full-screen mode.
