In the light hearted webseries Pop-Fiction, the team from Game Trailers sets about debunking some of the most enduring myths about classic video games.

The series takes on some of the urban legends surrounding retro games such as Super Mario Bros and Zelda. The program takes its cues from science-based cult hit Mythbusters, verifying or debunking the tall tales passed from gaming fan to gaming fan over the years.

The series has quickly become a cult hit for its mix of pop culture nostalgia and clever problem solving.

Controls at the base of the video player provide basic and advanced functionality. The first row of buttons allows browsers to pause and play the clips, adjust their volume, view them in full screen mode, and share them with friends. Buttons below these allow fans to share the videos over social networking platforms, comment on the clips, download them, and view them in continuous play mode.

A brief episode synopsis is printed underneath the player window, along with a viewer rating and codes for linking and embedding the videos.

Many of these functions are only available to Game Trailers members, but free membership is easily available by filling out a form on the site.
