Robotech: The New Generation is a Japanese mecha anime series which originally screened in 1985.

While it was originally broadcast in the 1980s, it was set between the years 2031 and 2044. It tells the story of the final Robotech War, the ultimate battle between aliens and earthlings for a foreign starship which crash-landed on earth.

The series takes up following the second Robotech War, when the weary United Earth Forces fell to the powerful Invid Invasion. They have no military leader, after losing key senior personal including Supreme Commander Anatole Leonard and Major General Rolf Emerson. Many key cities, included the capital Monument City, have been left in ruins.

The Invid have established a central hub at Reflex Point, and further hives around the world. They hunt down all remaining military personnel, use the rest of the population for slave labor, and aggressively harvest the nourishing plant known as the Flower of Life.

But Lieutenant Commander Scott Bernard is determined that the humans will not lie down. He leads a team of freedom fighters who descend on the Invid base and attempt to destroy it.

Robotech: The New Generation was directed by Robert V. Barron and Ippei Kuri. It is the final season of the Robotech chronicles.
