Sanctuary

Sanctuary is a Canadian online science fiction series. It claims to be the first broadcast quality, high definition drama series developed for the internet.

The series stars Amanda Tapping as Dr. Helen Magnus, a scientist studying terrifying creatures. Helen is assisted by her protégé Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne) and her headstrong daughter Ashley (Emilie Ullerup).

Sanctuary has strong ties to the popular sci fi series Stargate SG-1. Like this award-winning television show, Sanctuary was written by Damian Kindler and directed by Martin Wood. Both series also star Amanda Tapping and Christopher Heyerdahl.

Sanctuary holds the Guinness World Record for the "Highest Budget Television Production Direct to the Web." It's not hard to see why, as 90% of the series was shot using green screens, and there is plenty of CGI animation.

Episodes are available to download for a small fee. Browsers can download the standard definition episode for US$1.99, or the high definition format for US$2.49. Bundles of four episodes are also available for a discounted rate. Each episode lasts for approximately 15 minutes.

The episode includes some extra features, such as a .pdf file of the episode credits and some behind-the-scenes footage.
