Terra The Nature of Our World
Terra The Nature of Our World is an educational series exploring nature, science, culture, and the world around us.
The episodes, which typically run between 10 and 30 minutes, serve as vignettes drawing attention to interesting people, places, and creatures that make up the fabric of our world. Episodes take viewers from the cultures of the world's ancient civilizations to the cutting edge of scientific research and discovery.
The series is created by Montana State University’s Department of Media and Theater Arts in collaboration with its MFA in Science and Natural History Filmmaking. Since launching in 2005, Terra videos have been downloaded more than a million times.
The main Terra page contains images and a synopsis of the series' most recent episode. Viewers must scroll up the page to view the video player, which allows fans to watch the episode or a short trailer. Buttons underneath the player window allow fans to view these clips in the medium-definition Flash format or high-definition Quicktime format.
Clicking on the "archive" tab at the top of the page takes viewers to the complete Terra video archive. From their viewers can choose to view each episode trailer, or the full episodes in Flash or Quicktime formats.
