The Animation Block

The Animation Block is an internet channel showcasing short films from New York City's Animation Block Party film festival.

The episodes feature original content designed to appeal to discerning animation lovers. Unlike many cartoons, the short films are targeted at an adult viewing audience rather than children. The channel features works from a variety of animation genres include comedic shorts, experimental works, and documentary shorts.

The player features video controls which allow users to easily pause the video, fast forward and rewind the clip, adjust its volume, and view the episode in full-screen mode.

Anyone can view The Animation Block videos, but members of the My Damn Channel site have added functionality. They can leave a text or video comment to any episode. Membership to My Damn Channel is free.

A synopsis of each episode is shown underneath the player. The synopsis window contains icons allowing fans to share the videos with friends, embed them into a personal website, submit them to social networking websites, and download them to view later. Fan comments are shown underneath this synopsis.

New episodes are added to the channel every Wednesday. Parental guidance is recommended as The Animation Block contains adult themes.
