The Interface

The Interface is an alternative music channel which acts as a sister program to AOL's more commercial Sessions @ AOL.

Bands featured in the program have not achieved mainstream chart success, but are generating series buzz in underground music circles and on the live scene. Bands appearing in the series typically perform four songs and conduct an interview. Musicians appearing on The Interface include Jakob Dylan and The Legs, The Black Keys, and Band of Horses.

Fans are encouraged to interact with the webseries creators’ through Twitter and suggest the musicians they'd like to see featured in future episodes.

The player appears as a cell phone created by sponsors, Motorola and Verizon. Controls appear when hovering over the player window. Basic controls along the base of the player window allow browsers to pause and play the clips, adjust their volume, and view them in full screen and high definition modes. More advanced controls in the top right of the player window allow browsers to view information about the videos, share the videos with friends, and embed the videos into a personal website.

Brief information about the band is printed underneath this player, along with links which allow fans to view more information including tour dates, song lyrics, and a discography. Further links allow browsers to jump to the chapters of the video that interest them.
