The Mayor at the Movies

The Mayor at the Movies is a film review series hosted by former New York mayor Ed Koch.

Now that he's not spending time running the city, the former mayor has time to see all the latest Hollywood blockbusters and indie flicks. He delivers his reviews of these films from the desk of the law firm he now works.

Koch is an honest critic, who lacks the polish and training of the professionals. His frank and often funny appraisals are a refreshing change of pace. Rather than giving films a traditional "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" rating, Koch concludes his reviews with a plus or minus appraisal.

Videos are presented in blog style format, with the most recent episodes shown first. Each is preceded by a short blurb about the former mayor’s feelings about the film and his reasons for viewing it.

Controls at the base of the video player allow browsers to pause and play the clips, adjust their volume, embed the clips into a personal website or e-mail them to friends, and view them in full-screen or high-definition modes.
