The Secret Life of Scientists & Engineers is an educational series which profiles scientists and engineers working in a variety of different disciplines.

Each episode is short, lasting a little more than a minute. In that time the scientists talk about their professions before answering a series of ten rapid-fire questions. Their responses reveal must about their motivations for entering science, what they love about their jobs, and their secret and often unexpected passions.

The production values are simple, with the academics standing before a black background and speaking directly to the camera.

The Secret Life of Scientists & Engineers was created as a backlash to popular celebrity culture. It attempts to reveal the people behind the discoveries that are changing our world.

Controls along the base of the player window allow browsers to pause and play the clips, adjust their volume, and view them in full screen mode.

Text to the right of the player gives the scientist's name and area of specialty, and a link to a page with more comprehensive information. Fans can also click on a link to ask a question of each scientist featured in the series. Buttons underneath this allow fans to embed the videos into a personal website or share them with friends on social networking websites.

Fans can also scroll through thumbnail images below the players to view past episodes in the series archives.
